Rodney Peete is an American former professional football player who had a successful career as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL).​ Born on March 16٫ 1966٫ Peete played college football for the USC Trojans٫ where he earned first-team All-American honors in 1988.​ He was then selected in the sixth round of the 1989 NFL Draft.

During his NFL career, Peete played for several teams, including the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders, and Carolina Panthers.​ Despite being considered an underdog, Peete proved his talents throughout his 16-year career in the league.​

Peete’s career had its fair share of challenges, including injuries and competition from other quarterbacks; However, he persevered and showcased his abilities on the field.​ He started a total of 87 games, throwing for 16,338 yards, 76 touchdowns, and 92 interceptions. He also ran for 1,139 yards and scored 16 rushing touchdowns.​

Currently, Peete is co-hosting the live afternoon sports-talk radio show, Lunchtime with Roggin and Rodney, on AM 570 LA Sports.​ He has been co-hosting the show since 2016 and has become a popular figure in the radio industry.​

Peete’s personal life is also notable.​ He is married to actress Holly Robinson Peete, known for her roles on 21 Jump Street, Hangin with Mr.​ Cooper, and For Your Love.​ Together, they have four adult children.​ One of their sons, Rodney Jr., has autism and works for the L.A. Dodgers. The Peetes established the HollyRod Foundation in 1997, which aims to support individuals with Parkinson’s disease and families affected by autism.
