A Hollywood star with Australian roots is experiencing family grief. Janelle died on September 7 at the age of 84. At that time, Nicole was at the Venice Film Festival, where she was awarded as the best actress for her role in the film “Baby”. Kidman was forced to leave Italy in a hurry to reunite with her family in Sydney. The prize for it was received by director Galina Rein, who read out the artist’s announcement from the stage.
A week after her mother’s death, Nicole found the strength to honor her memory. She published several family pictures with her mom, dad Anthony and younger sister Antonia. “My sister and I, along with our family, want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we felt this week. Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our mother means more to us than we can ever express. Thank you from our whole family for respecting our privacy, as we care about each other,” said Nicole.
The actress was supported by star acquaintances. “Sending so much love to both of you. I sympathize with your loss. Your wonderful, energetic mom will be missed by so many. I hope she’s now peacefully reunited with your dad. Love you,” Naomi Watts wrote.
“I am very sorry for your loss, Nicole and Antonia. I’ll never forget the winter night when my hubby came home after a charity night with your beloved mom and dad for a cup of tea and a campfire chat. They were both full of tender grace, intelligence and humility… I’m so incredibly proud of both of you. I wish you and your families the space, privacy and time you need to keep all the pleasant memories,” said Australian TV presenter and editor Lisa Wilkinson.
“I feel sorry for your loss, Nicole. I send blessings to you and your family,” Michelle Pfeiffer said. “Deep empathy. Our thoughts are with you,” Nick Sheridan wrote. “My deepest condolences to you and your family. I was lucky to be in her presence. Rest in peace,” Lenny Kravitz added.
Nicole was very attached to her mother. She admitted that it was Janelle who instilled in her a love of art, as she constantly took her daughters to museums, theaters and cinema. The actress’s mother and grandmother sewed and knitted perfectly, creating outfits for Nicole and Antonia. So they instilled in the star a love of fashion. According to the actress, she always consulted with her mother about her images, despite the fact that a whole team of professional stylists collaborated with her, reports Daily Mail.
The owner of a personalized star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame admitted that she missed her mother terribly when she lived in the United States. “I would like to be able to have a cup of tea with my mother, sit on the balcony and talk about life, and for her to tell me what I should do,” she said in an interview. As a result, Kidman decided to spend most of her time in her native Australia.
The Academy Award winner was also incredibly close to her father, psychologist Anthony Kidman. The man died in September 2014 at the age of 75 from a heart attack. This was a heavy blow to his wife and daughters.
