Understanding Barbietox: An Explanation of Stassi Schroeder’s Botox Procedure

Stassi Schroeder, a former cast member of Vanderpump Rules, has been open about getting various cosmetic procedures throughout her career. She took to Instagram to share the results of a cosmetic procedure called “Barbietox,” also known as “traptox,” with her followers.

While she did not provide many details about the procedure, she tagged her plastic surgeon in the post. Barbietox involves using Botoxin the trapezoid muscles that surround the upper back and shoulders.

The procedure is aimed at slimming the neck, making it appear longer and relieving muscle tightness, back, and shoulder pain. Several plastic surgeons have touted the benefits of Barbietox, claiming that it can help with tension relief and soreness.

While Dr. Firouz mentioned Botox as the neurotoxin used for Barbietox, other neurotoxins can be used as well. Daxxify is recommended to have a more lasting effect. The amount of neurotoxin used varies from person to person, but a larger muscle could require up to 50 units per side.

The procedure is only technically FDA-approved for the face, and using it in other areas of the body is considered off-label. This makes it crucial that the procedure is done by a licensed medical professional, as there are potential risks involved, such as exacerbated back pain, hindering posture, and difficulty maintaining posture for women with larger breasts.

Recovery time for Barbietox is similar to that of any Botox procedure, but it may be wise to avoid drinking alcohol and taking NSAID pain relievers for a few days to minimize bleeding and bruising. Strenuous physical activity should also be avoided for a short period after the procedure. The effects of Barbietox can last up to six months, depending on the type and amount of toxin used.

The goal of Barbietox is to slim down the neck and relieve muscle tightness, back, and shoulder pain. While the procedure is only FDA-approved for the face, it carries potential risks, and recovery time is similar to any other Botox procedure.
